Vercel

In this guide, you’ll learn how to set up the Vercel integration to deploy your website directly in Prepr CMS.

Introduction

Vercel is a cloud platform that automates front-end deployments for speed and efficiency. When editors publish content changes in Prepr CMS, these changes appear in the live website. However, for statically deployed sites, content changes are only visible after a rebuild and deployment. The Vercel integration mitigates this by allowing users to deploy to Vercel directly from Prepr, ensuring the website updates with the latest published content as needed.

Enabling Vercel deployment in Prepr

Connect Prepr to your Vercel account

You can connect Prepr to your Vercel account with the following steps:

  1. Log in to your Prepr account and go to Settings → Integrations and find the Vercel card. Click the Activate button. You'll be redirected to Vercel.
  2. Click the Connect Account button and log in to your Vercel account, if needed.
  3. In the Connect Prepr Account dialog, select a Vercel team to access your front-end projects, and choose the project/s.
  4. Click the Connect Account button.
  5. Choose the environment and click the Continue button.
  6. Choose your project and click the Continue button.
  7. Choose the branch and click the Continue button.

Now that your Prepr account is connected to your chosen Vercel project/s, you'll see the Vercel integration activated in Prepr. You should now see the Deploy link in the top navigation.

That's it. You’ve activated the Vercel integration making the in-app deploy feature available to all Prepr users.

Test the integration

To test the integration, follow the steps below.

  1. Click the Deploy link to open the list of available Vercel projects.
  2. Go to any project and click the Build and deploy button.

Vercel deploy

When the build and deploy finishes, you'll see the status of the deployment including any possible build errors.

That’s it. The Vercel integration is activated and any user can now build and deploy directly in Prepr.
